DADAA`s Future
|
DADAA WA empowers communities through the creation of innovative art processes that reflect the specific needs of people with disabilities through a combination of community cultural development, arts and health practice.
Under the trusteeship of Western Australian Community Foundation, DADAA WA has established DADAA's Future, giving West Australians an opportunity to contribute to the future of people with disabilities and / or mental illness.

A volunteer local advisory committee has been established to work closely with Western Australian Community Foundation to build the pool of donations and recommend programs and initiatives to support.
DADAA WA's focus is people with disabilities between the ages of 4 and 90, and the organisation serves approximately 1800 Western Australians directly every year through art workshops and cultural development projects. DADAA WA provides a respite service for families and carers of people with disabilities, and provides arts for the disability sector. Some initiatives include:
-
working within 46 communities, including 14 regional communities;
-
Ageing & Disability Program expanding in response to the growing population of elderly people with disabilities;
-
61 individual projects across WA including regional Indigenous communities; and
-
DADAA WA being the only arts and disability organisation offering a truly statewide service.
Our Vision
Gifting to DADAA's Future will help DADAA WA create a legacy for the future of people with disabilities and people experiencing disadvantage. Donations or gifts of stock and property can be received by Western Australian Community Foundation on behalf of DADAA's Future. These gifts will form a capital base which will be invested to generate funds to be used to support local WA projects.
Alternatively, leaving a bequest is a simple way you can contribute to the disabled and disadvantaged community. If this is something you or your family might like to do, the DADAA WA local advisory committee can provide you with some appropriate wording or click here to download a copy of Western Australian Community Foundation's bequest information brochure. Donations will be used to fund DADAA WA projects, which might include:
-
Proper Shoes provides writing and performance based projects for young women aged 14–24 experiencing disabilities;
-
Be Active-Artlink provides young people with disabilities access to 45 weeks of arts and cultural programs per year;
-
The Freight Gallery offers people with persistent mental illness a two-year program to develop skills in the visual arts; and
-
Home & Community Care helps people who are ageing with disability to live independently.
