Denmark Community`s Future
Picture Denmark 10, 20 or 50 years from now. What do you see? Be creative, be positive, dare to dream ... What would you like to see? Most importantly, what can we all do today to help shape Denmark’s tomorrow?
Denmark Community’s Future is important to all who are inspired, interested or committed to the vision of a bright and prosperous Denmark. It is an opportunity to invest in that vision. Stimulating and sustaining a dynamic, philanthropic culture amongst the Denmark community and business members is at the heart of Denmark Community’s Future. Denmark Community’s Future has been established under the trusteeship of Western Australian Community Foundation to promote and support local community and voluntary activities.
Gifts for the Future
By giving to Denmark Community’s Future you will be helping secure the sustainable future of Denmark. Bequests or gifts of stock / funds and property can be received by Western Australian Community Foundation for Denmark Community’s Future. These gifts, large and small, will be invested, along with any future contributions, with a portion of the income earned being made available through a grants program to the Denmark community. A range of local community and charitable projects will be considered for funding support. Some may include initiatives in the areas of:
-
aged care;
-
education
-
environment
-
health and well-being
-
community facilities
-
technology
-
tourism
-
children and youth
In 2008 four local initiatives benefited from the inaugural grant round thanks to the support of the Denmark community. Around $1,000 of interest earned from donations made to the fund was shared amongst local groups including:
-
Eclectica Community Choir to support the ‘Digby to Denmark’ project;
-
‘A Smart Start Denmark’ for the purchase of publications to support local new mothers;
-
Green Skills to purchase a heater for use during the colder months; and
-
Denmark Little Athletics in support of the ‘Family Fitness & Fun’ program for the purchase a fabric parachute game.
